Santarpio’s Pizza: 120 Years of Thin-Crust in East Boston
Santarpio's Pizza has been serving up epic pizza since 1903. Steeped in history and renowned for its unbelievable food, this place is iconic.

A Rich History:
Established by Francesco Santarpio, an Italian immigrant, Santarpio’s Pizza has stood the test of time for over a century. The Santarpio family’s commitment to quality and tradition has been passed down through generations, making it a cherished culinary landmark in Boston’s dining scene. Its enduring popularity can be attributed to the exceptional food and dedication to authentic pizza-making techniques.
At Santarpio’s, it’s all about the pizza, and locals and visitors flock here to experience the taste that has stood strong for more than a century. Known for its thin-crust pizza, Santarpio’s offers a variety of toppings, but it’s their homemade sausage that has become legendary. The combination of flavorful sausage, fresh ingredients, and expertly baked crust creates a truly unforgettable pizza experience.

Celebrities including Ben Affleck and Jay Leno love Santarpios. But, it’s important to note that while Santarpio’s Pizza has gained recognition and attracted famous patrons, the focus remains on the pizzeria’s longstanding tradition of serving delicious pizzas rather than being a hub for high-profile events or encounters.
Santarpio’s continues to capture the hearts and palates of pizza enthusiasts. So, make your way to 111 Chelsea Street, and let Santarpio’s Pizza take you on a delightful journey through the tastes and traditions of East Boston.

The Feast of St. Aggripina is in the North End, unless Santarpio’s does their celebration in the restaurant. I lived in East Boston for 8 years and never saw it there. It is, however, one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The lamb and sausage plate is nothing short of a miracle!
