I also had the opportunity of connecting with Owner & CCO Bobby Heaney to get his thoughts on the Independence Pub Crawl and what the event means to him.

Check out some of our interview below!

How did you get the idea/what motivated you to create this crawl?

“I started Boston Crawling 6 years ago because I wanted to combine the things that I love - meeting new people, fun history, and, of course, beer. I decided the best way to do that would be with a History Tour Pub Crawl. I backpacked through Europe alone when I was younger and pub crawls were always a great way for me to meet fellow travelers. I'm glad our Independence Pub Crawl lets strangers become friends with the help of some history and beer.”

What's something that makes this pub crawl different from the others?

“At Boston Crawling we love sharing the history they left out in 8th-grade social studies class. We focus on the nitty, gritty, fun stories of Boston and our founding fathers. We find these make the most entertaining and informative stories.”

What's a typical crawl experience look like?

“On our Independence Pub Crawl, you'll crawl to 4 different bars along the Freedom Trail with fellow guests from around the world while your expert local guide shares the unknown stories of Boston's colonial and revolutionary past. Along the way, you'll get to drink local craft beer in historic taverns and hidden hideaways.”
