Set in the backdrop of 1973, “The Heart Sellers” introduces us to Jane and Luna, two Asian immigrants whose chance encounter in a grocery store on Thanksgiving leads to an enduring friendship. Bound by their shared experiences of homesickness, the complexities of adapting to a new country, and the absence of their hardworking husbands, Jane and Luna’s story is one of hope, laughter, and the pursuit of dreams. From dreaming about disco dancing to learning to drive and fantasizing about Disneyland, their journey is a testament to finding grace and dignity in building a new home in a foreign land.
