Shirley Eat More Sunshine

Shirley Eat More Sunshine is a tiny takeout shop in Davis Square where the bread deserves as much attention as the sandwich filling. Owner Kat Bayle makes breads, baked goods and sandwiches with local ingredients. The bacon breakfast sandwich comes on house-made cheesy focaccia with an olive-oil-baked egg, Cabot cheddar and roasted jalapeño aioli. For lunch, salami and local mozzarella share focaccia with roasted eggplant and herb aioli. There are baked goods to take home, too. The College Avenue shop currently serves Thursday through Sunday mornings and early afternoons, so plan this as breakfast or lunch. Order pickup online, and leave the sit-down dinner plans for somewhere else.
