University Grill and Pizza

University Grill and Pizza is a family-run restaurant at 712 Commonwealth Avenue, on the Boston University stretch west of Kenmore Square. Pizza, subs, burgers, pasta and Greek dishes make up a broad menu, so lunch doesn’t have to be the same order for everyone. Homemade brownies are another part of the shop’s long-running identity.

The business dates to 1960, and the Michaelidis family took over in 1997. It’s a neighborhood and campus food stop rather than a restaurant inside a university dining hall. Check its own menu and ordering information when planning a visit, especially outside the academic day. Despite the similar name, it is a separate business from University House of Pizza on Huntington Avenue; confirming the Commonwealth Avenue address will save you a trip to the wrong counter.
