Summer Shack

Summer Shack in Cambridge makes a seafood meal possible without a drive to the coast. Jasper White opened the restaurant in 2000, and pan-roasted lobster remains on the menu alongside clam chowder, fried whole-belly clams and a raw bar. The Alewife Brook Parkway address is the Cambridge location, separate from the restaurant in Boston’s Back Bay.

You can build a meal around oysters and shrimp, settle on a lobster dinner, or order a clambake when you want the full spread. There’s room on the menu for a quick bowl of chowder as well as a longer seafood lunch. It opens daily for lunch and dinner, with later closing times on Friday and Saturday.
