Blue Nile Restaurant
Blue Nile serves Ethiopian food on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, with enough vegetable dishes to make dinner a full meal without meat. A vegetarian combination lets you choose four or six preparations, including red lentils cooked with berbere, chickpea stew, collard greens, and cabbage with potatoes. Start with lentil sambosas or azefa, a lentil salad with shallots and chili. For meat eaters, the tibs include chicken, beef, and lamb; the lamb version can be ordered spicy, medium, or without spice. Injera, the soft Ethiopian flatbread, is part of the meal. The combination plates are a useful place to start when you want to try several dishes rather than settle on one.
