John Deaton launches Senate run after a lifetime of beating the odds
The Marine and attorney known as “the people’s lawyer” takes on Washington.
WORCESTER, MA — Massachusetts has a new contender and a real fighter. John Deaton, a Marine veteran, cancer survivor, father of three, and nationally known attorney, is expected to announce his run for United States Senate at a major event in Worcester on Monday night.
The event, held at Off The Rails, is open to the public. Doors open at 6 PM, with an exclusive announcement at 7:30 PM.

Deaton was born into generational poverty in Highland Park, Michigan, one of America’s toughest neighborhoods.
He grew up surrounded by violence, poverty, and instability, but refused to accept that as his future.
After surviving abuse and dropping out of school, he found a small Catholic program that let him work off tuition. He became the first in his family to graduate high school.
He went on to earn a college degree while battling cancer.
Deaton moved to Boston for law school, working nights to pay tuition and joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He rose to Chief Prosecutor and Senior Defense Counsel, earning top honors for service before a medical retirement in 2002.
A Fighter for the Underdog
For more than twenty years, Deaton has represented cancer victims and working families against corporate giants. He founded his own law firm while raising three daughters and paying off heavy student debt.
In 2017, he uncovered asbestos in children’s makeup sold by national retailers. His findings led to product recalls and new testing standards.
Deaton also took on Washington. When the SEC tried to crush small crypto investors, he represented 75,000 people worldwide without pay and won. His legal work earned him the Defender of Freedom Award and a reputation as “the people’s lawyer.”
“No Fear. Never Give Up.”
Deaton says his campaign is about standing up for the people who never get heard.
“I’ve fought cancer. I’ve fought the government. I’ve fought for regular people who were outmatched and ignored,” Deaton said. “Now I’m ready to fight for Massachusetts in the United States Senate.”
He lives in Bolton with his youngest daughter and says Massachusetts needs leaders who understand what real struggle looks like.
Worcester Kickoff Event
