Secret Boston Community Terms + Liability Waiver

Welcome to the Secret Boston community.

These terms apply to participation in Secret Boston community activities, including but not limited to:

  • Secret Boston Social Club meetups
  • ambassador/community contributor opportunities
  • invited events
  • comped experiences
  • community gatherings
  • content collaborations
  • ticketed or non-ticketed activities organized, promoted, or facilitated by Secret Boston

By signing up, attending an event, participating in an activity, accepting tickets or invitations, submitting content, or otherwise participating in the Secret Boston community, you agree to the following:

1. Voluntary Participation

Participation in Secret Boston community activities is completely voluntary.

You understand that Secret Boston facilitates informal community experiences and social opportunities. Participation does not create any employment, contractor, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship with Secret Boston.

2. Independent Events + Venues

Many activities take place at third-party venues, businesses, or public locations.

Secret Boston does not own, operate, supervise, manage, or control these venues, businesses, attendees, or events and is not responsible for venue operations, security, staff, transportation, alcohol service, crowd conditions, or the actions of other participants.

3. Personal Responsibility

You participate in all activities and events at your own discretion and risk.

You are solely responsible for:

  • your personal safety
  • your belongings
  • your transportation
  • your alcohol consumption
  • your conduct
  • your interactions with other attendees

You agree to follow all venue rules, local laws, and applicable age restrictions and to behave respectfully toward others.

4. Assumption of Risk + Release of Liability

You understand that participation in public events, nightlife activities, social gatherings, and community experiences may involve inherent risks, including illness, injury, property damage, accidents, harassment, emotional distress, or interactions with other attendees.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and agree to release and hold harmless Secret Boston, Secret Boston LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, sponsors, venues, and collaborators from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to your participation in any Secret Boston community activity or event.

5. No Guarantees

Secret Boston does not guarantee:

  • admission to any event
  • event quality, safety, or suitability
  • attendee behavior or compatibility
  • availability of tickets, seating, or accommodations
  • uninterrupted operation of community programs or meetups

Events, schedules, venues, and participation opportunities may change or be canceled at any time.

6. Community Conduct

Secret Boston reserves the right to deny participation or remove individuals from any community activity, meetup, or event at any time for behavior deemed inappropriate, unsafe, disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, threatening, or harmful to the community experience.

7. Photos + Content

Community activities and events may include photography or video.

By attending or participating, you grant Secret Boston permission to use photos, videos, likeness, comments, or content featuring you for editorial, promotional, marketing, website, email, social media, and related business purposes without compensation.

If you submit, tag, send, or share content with Secret Boston, you grant permission for that content to be reposted, edited, published, distributed, and used across Secret Boston channels.

8. Optional Perks + No Compensation

From time to time, Secret Boston may provide complimentary tickets, invitations, experiences, products, or other perks.

These opportunities are optional and provided at Secret Boston’s discretion.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing, participation is unpaid and does not entitle you to compensation, reimbursement, employment benefits, or future opportunities.

9. No Authority to Represent Secret Boston

You may not present yourself as an employee, representative, agent, or official spokesperson of Secret Boston unless explicitly authorized in writing.

You may not enter into agreements, make commitments, or speak on behalf of Secret Boston.

10. Updates to These Terms

Secret Boston may update these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued participation in community activities constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.

11. Acceptance

By checking the acceptance box, submitting a signup form, accepting an invitation, attending an event, or participating in any Secret Boston community activity, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms + Liability Waiver.
