Stellar Production: Herding Cats
Learn about Stellar’s upcoming production Herding Cats — featuring Jassa Ahluwalia, Greg Germann and Sophie Melville — which tells the story of a generation negotiating intimacy and independence in the 21st century. What makes this production different than others shown is that it is the first event to feature actors performing simultaneously while in different parts of the world.
Starring Jassa Ahuwalia (Unforgotten), Greg Germann (Grey’s Anatomy) and Sophie Melville (Pops), Herding Cats is a play about a generation negotiating intimacy and independence within the 21st century. However, meeting the demands of modern life is impossible as herding cats for Justine, Micheal and Saddo, who earn a living by talking. Yet the three will learn that in a cold, dark world, words may not be enough.
Directed by Anthony Banks, Herding Cats is a production that incorporates the use of technology discovered during the pandemic with an in-person performance, as Ahuwalia and Melville will perform for an in-person audience at London’s Soho Theatre. At the same time, Germann will perform live through video from the United States.
What separates this production from previous ones is the fact that it will be accessible for both an online audience (through Stellar), as well as in-person at Soho Theatre, making this the first-ever international collaboration.
The production starts running today (May 19) at 2:30 p.m. and runs until May 22 at 6:00 p.m.
