The Dubliner to Open in Downtown Boston

Have you ever wondered what it is like to dine in Ireland? Well, you won’t have to travel oversees to experience it because The Dubliner is set to open this Spring in Downtown Boston. One of Ireland’s most talented young chefs will be in the city to open his own place.
Chef Aidan Mc Gee, who has worked at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, is set to impress Boston residents. He wants to portray how people are dining in Ireland today rather than having an Irish Pub. Without loosing its authenticity, Mc Gee wants to show customers how exceptionally good the food and hospitality is in Ireland today.
The restaurant will be located at 2 Center Plaza, in Downtown Boston right across the street from Boston City Hall and it is slated to open in April 2022. The inaugural menu will include items such as Grilled Garden Leeks, Maine Crabs on Irish Soda Bread with Seaweed Butter, Curried Mussels, Classic Fish and Chips, Slow-Cooked Beef Cheeks, Hill Mountain Shepherd’s Pie, and a Seasonal Soft Serve Ice Cream topped with Lucky Charms. Every Sunday, they will offer what is called Sunday Roast which is a tradition in Ireland.
Chef Aidan Mc Gee
Chef Mc Gee has worked at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Foliage at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, Launceston Place in Kensington, and Truscott Arms. Most recently, he was the executive chef at Corrigan Collection, a group of four restaurants in the UK and Ireland. He comes from a family of chefs and has made Ireland one of the hottest dining destinations in the world.
“I’m very excited to share my food with my new adopted city,” Mc Gee says. “There’s no need to pay for airfare to sample the new Irish cooking when you can stop by The Dubliner.“
The Dubliner is a partnership between Mc Gee and Irish group East Coast Tavern Group (Carrie Nation, Roxanne, and Emmet'‘s). Fun fact: Chef Mc Gee and his wife have recently moved to Back Bay and she works on nuclear weapons issues at Harvard, talk about a power couple!
