Superchunk’s Return to Boston ft. TORRES
Calling all Indie lovers! Superchunk will return to Boston on April 27, 2022 with special guest, TORRES, at Paradise Rock Club. Don’t miss your opportunity to see them live for as little as $27.
Superchunk is an American indie rock band that was formed in 1989 in Chapel Hill, NC. The band is composed of Mac McCaughan as the guitarist and vocalist, Jim Wilbur as the second guitarist , Jon Wurster as the drummer, and Laura Ballance as the bass. Wilbur, Wurster, and Balance are the back vocalists for the band. Since their debut, Superchunk has mastered early punk rock stompers, polished mid-career masterpieces, and lush, adventurous curveballs.
Next Tuesday, March 29, Superchunk will release their music video for Endless Summer, a track in their Wild Loneliness album. For right now, you can watch their Endless Summer lyric video on YouTube.
Mackenzie Ruth Scott, a 31-year-old American indie rock singer who performs under the stage name TORRES, will open for Superchunk. Scott chose to perform under this name as a sly repudiation of Scott’s Baptist upbringing in Macon, Georgia, focused on the body and its capacity for pleasure rather than the church’s instruction to deny the flesh. TORRES’ new album, THIRSTIER, is now out on Merge Records. The music video for the album’s “Don't Go Puttin Wishes in My Head" is available for viewing on YouTube. If you want to learn more about TORRES, you can follow her Instagram, Spotify, and Twitter.
Tickets for this show is on sale on Live Nation for just $27. This is an 18+ event only and an ID is needed for entry. Doors will open at 7PM but the show won’t start until 8PM. To learn more about this unique band, you can view their website and listen to them on Spotify!
