Spooky Season in Boston

Looking for Halloween plans already? We’ve got you covered! We have collected the best haunted houses, tours, and festivals and put them in a list for you to decide which one to attend - or attend all.

1. Spooky World: this year, they are presenting the Haunted Hayride, Nightmare New England, Asylum 47, The Colony, and the 3D Dream Scape. The opening weekend is September 24-25. Aside form this, they have a beer garden and extra rides and games! Fun fact - it is the largest New England haunted attraction.

2. Haunted Overload: DeMeritt Hill Farm will be responsible of hosting this famous and spooky attraction that attracts lots of visitors each year. Their affordable price does not mean the farm does not bring you an iconic haunted experience. The contrary! They are extending their attraction to bring guests a new and fascinating adventure.

3. Salem Horror Fest: this celebration of diverse voices and innovating filmmaking with a genre that, as they say, best reflects their cultural demons, is coming back this year with over 25 premiers in addition to ROMERO LIVES - a celebration and retrospective of the life and legacy of the Master of Horror. There will also be a series of curated screenings and other special programs in partnership with The George A. Romero Foundation.

4. Ghosts and Gravestones: hop on the Trolley of Terror to go back on time and relive some of the scariest stories that took place on the Boston Commons. You will definitely leave wishing you had not heard them! Prepare yourself for a fun evening full of scares and many ghost stories… You will be learning about the history of Boston but with a twist, definitely not worth missing!

5. Online Halloween Scavenger Hunt: if you prefer to stay home for the Halloween celebrations, then this is for you! A virtual game of real ghost stories where you will have ghost in your computer… You will meet a host over Zoom and from there you will work with your team and follow a series of clues across surprising websites to answer tricky questions. There are opportunities for public, private, and kids events.
