Boston, MA (June 1, 2021) — Secret Boston is proud to announce two new executive hires. This June, music industry veterans Sylvia Cunha and Clay Fernald are joining the company’s management team. Sylvia will be taking on the role of Partner, while Clay will become the new Director of Content. The two media pros bring years of experience working together in the Boston cultural scene. Most recently, they co-ran a Live Nation/Crossroads Presents music community.
“Sylvia and Clay are cultural powerhouses in this town. They are the perfect team to skyrocket (the real!) Secret Boston and reinforced us as the most forward moving media company in Greater Boston,” said Michelle M. McCormack, Secret Boston Founder.
“It has always been my goal to connect fans to their favorite artists; with live music starting up again, Secret Boston is the best place to do that. When the opportunity arose to partner with Michelle and work with Clay again, I couldn’t say no,” said Cunha.
"From being popular in Boston in the early days of internet fame to managing nightclubs and content-driven websites for the top live entertainment bands and brands in the city, I am very excited to be a part of Secret Boston," said Fernald. "To do so in coordination with some familiar faces is a big advantage. I'm eager to get back to work with live events after an extended quarantine!"
The Secret Boston community is exploding (their TikTok goes viral regularly!) as folks get comfortable attending concerts and live events, especially since restaurant restrictions are lifted in Massachusetts. Clay Fernald has been rocking social media and event promotion for more than 20 years. He made headlines at Boston Phoenix and FOX 25 for social media as the "Most Popular Man in Boston." In 2015, Clay interviewed Marvel Comics legend Stan "The Man" Lee for a DigBoston cover story. During the COVID-19 crisis, Clay interviewed Kevin Smith in-person about the director's pop-up restaurant at House of Blues. When he's not working, he participates in various podcasts, including a special live-streamed bike delivery for Masters of Scale in March of 2021.
