Campaign to Save Moraine Farm

The Frederick Law Olmsted masterpiece designed in 1880 commonly known as Moraine Farm, will be restored by The Trustees after decades of effort to reunite and restore the historic property in order to open it for public access for the first time. And you can help them do so!

Averaging 175 acres along Wenham Lake in Beverly, Moraine Farm is the perfect example of “Olmsted’s approach to planning a country estate,” according to Charles E. Beveridge, a Olmsted scholar. For the last 150 years, the different parcels that the estate is fractured into have been owned by numerous families, a private school, Project Adventure, and The Trustees. The original design has remained unchanged throughout the years which makes it a rare gem!

The Trustees own four small parcels on the property and they have just gotten the opportunity of purchasing the key central plot of land of a total of 66-acres that includes access to the lake, main estate house, tea garden, terrace, and other areas designed by Olmsted. As mentioned, The Trustees plan on restoring the property and opening it to the public for the first time. Additionally, they have launched a campaign to fund the $4.15 million purchase, restoration, and protection of the land.
