King Hannah To Perform At The Crystal Ballroom

King Hannah is scheduled to perform at the Crystal Ballroom at the Somerville Theatre on May 2, 2022 at 8 p.m.. The duo will be joined by Izzy Heltai and Hawthorn on this date.

In 2017, Hannah Merrick and Craig Whittle formed King Hannah shortly after meeting while waiting tables in Liverpool.

King Hannah will be performing their debut full length album, I’M NOT SORRY, I WAS JUST BEING ME– an inspired melding of American influences as diverse as Red House Painters, Mazzy Star and Smog with more British sources like PJ Harvey and Portishead. The album includes tracks that are full of darkness and wit, and mesmerizing and thrilling in equal measures. All and all, the album sums up the duo’s single-minded vision and their determination to remain true to themselves, but also offers a glimpse of the wry, knowing humour lurking in the shadows of the record.

Izzy Heltai is a queer folk artist whose music resembles confessional lo-fi musings and raucous basement rock. Heltai’s mission is to create moments you could hum to yourself in a moment of introspection or scream off the top of a parking garage at 2 a.m. through his songs.

Interested folks can purchase tickets for this event through the Ticketmaster website for just $15! Proof of COVID vacation is required for entry. Further questions can be answered on the event’s website page.

Be sure to attend this show put on by British artists to feel like you’re listening to different music styles in the span of a few hours– whether that be listening to dusty jukebox 7” singles from the late 1950s played at half speed or like Cowboy Junkies forced to play The Trinity Sessions at knifepoint with a pounding whiskey hangover
