Juneteenth Youth Fun Run

Saturday June 19th 9:30am-12pm - $0-$25

Celebrate Juneteenth by running! The Museum of Fine Arts of Boston (MFA) is co-hosting alongside SoleTrain a run this Saturday in order to celebrate Juneteenth, the day enslaved people in the state of Texas received the news of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation which lead to the end of servitude under the law. The race for those 18 and under is completely free and the adults one costs $25.

The event is organized by UNMD Run Crew, founded to center Black liberation, joy, and safety through running. This year will mark the second delivery of the unsanctioned race. Staff will be waiting for runners on the Museum lawn at the corner of Fenway and Forsyth Avenue for registration. All runners (for the Youth Fun Run) will be able to get treats from Blackbird Donuts. For the adult race there will be post-race refreshments from Athletic Brewing offered and even an after party!

The youth race is comply free but only the first seventy-five registrants under age 18 will be able to participate. Parent/guardian waivers will be available to be signed on site and will be emailed to those who sign up beforehand. The day will be split in two, separating the youth and adult races as follows:

YOUTH FUN RUN (FREE)

  • 9:30 AM Registration.

  • 10 AM Warm-Up.

  • 10:15 AM Fun Run Relay Event.
