New Attitude at Colette Wine & Bar

Sandrine Rossi, operator and owner of the award-winning Boston South End restaurant Frenchie and the famous Cambridge bistro Colette Wine Bistro, has decided to join both establishments under the same management resulting in Frenchie & Co. Group. Frenchie’s chef and general manager will now also lead Colette to bring a new attitude to the bistro.

Sandrine Rossi grew up surrounded by gastronomy. Her mom managed cheese and wine shops and a restaurant while her dad co-owned a winery in Bordeaux. The past year has been wild for Rossi. her beloved Frenchie was vandalized during the summer due to the numerous protests that took place in the city, she had her first child in August, she became the sole owner of Colette, and even got COVID in September. The decision of merging both restaurants comes after the pandemic. “It became apparent to me that both restaurants would prosper from a shared management team,“ Rossi says.

Frenchie chef Alex Falconer, who has been in the team since January 2017, will now be in charge of the kitchens at both locations. Falconer is known for introducing Bostonians to a modern French gastronomy. He has led Frenchie to being named the “Best French Restaurant in Boston“ in April 2021 by Boston Magazine.

Former Frenchie General Manager, Philippe Hamilton, transitions into being the Director of Hospitality of both establishments. Born and raised in France and Northeastern University graduate, Hamilton has become a familiar face to the residents of the South End and regulars to the restaurant. She will now distribute her time between both locations.

Both restaurants are now open for dine in and take-out as well. Wine from her Rossi’s own family is sold at both establishments. Reservations for Frenchie are strongly recommended for both dinner and weekend brunch. If you would like to check out the menu for Frenchie visit this link for plates like Salt Encrusted Branzino, Seared Foie Gras, Escargot Toast! Colette now offers various small plates both hot and cold and French desserts such as the Nutella Chocolate Mousse. We also recommend that you make a reservation for dinner or brunch if you want to have a great sit at the patio.
