On Friday, March 19, an announcement from Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) stated that both the Orchestra and the Boston Pops will be returning to Tanglewood for six weeks from July 9 to Aug. 16.

This announcement marks the first time musicians from the BSO will perform live in front of audiences since March 2020.

COVID SAFE

With the groups retuning to Tanglewood, there will be regulations in place to keep everyone safe, including the typical mask wearing and social distancing, contactless ticketing, sessions being limited to 80 minutes and there will be no singing.

In addition, the BSO - in partnership with 9Foundations Inc. - will leave seats empty and give out free coverings to help encourage social distancing.

In the statement from the orchestra, it announced a more detailed programming on April 8, with tickets for the general public going on sale on May 17.
