Boston Design Week 2021
September 27th - October 16th - in-person and virtual
Boston Design Week 2021 is happening this year! The festival will last three weeks with the purpose of increasing public awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design including its role in our daily lives as well as industries and organizations. The theme for this year is “Fall Into Art and Design.“
The event will be both in-person and virtual including outdoor events. The festival will feature numerous nationally known speakers, design tours, panel discussions, and museum exhibitions. Additionally, Boston Design Week has also invited six other art and design festivals to cross-promote their upcoming events!
The festival’s main mission is to increase the public’s awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design, help people understand the vital role design plays in everyday life, and also bring new audiences to the design industries and organizations. Interviews this year include two internationally known architects: Hiroshi Okamoto, and Brett Rhode. The festival will kick off with a virtual panel called “The New Traditionalists“ which will feature three leading designers: Ashley Whittaker, from New York, Allison Caccoma, from San Francisco, and Tiffany LeBlanc, from Boston.
In-person events will include the opening of the new Minotti Boston showroom located on Stuart Street as well as a special reception at the Designer Bath showroom in Watertown lead by TV host and producer Jenny Johnson and her husband, writer and editor Robert Cocuzzo, alongside their interior designer Kate Maloney Albiani. There will also be tons of museum visits, tours, and other events for you to enjoy doing Boston Designer Week!
