SUMMARY:The Bald Soprano and; The Lesson
DESCRIPTION:An absurd play for the absurdist of times!\nEverything is as it should be-or is it? Ridiculous on the surface but razor-sharp underneath\, The Bald Soprano & The Lesson is a fast\, funny\, absurdist double feature. As the laughs pile up in The Bald Soprano\, polite dinner party chatter unravels\, propriety goes off the rails\, and ultimately\, conformity spirals into chaos. In The Lesson a hysterical tutoring session explodes into a nonsensical power struggle fueled by misplaced authority. The result is a frenetic theatrical tour-de-force that is simultaneously comedic and profound which asks audiences to laugh loudly but think deeply.\n\nAll tickets are Pay-What-You-Can! The means we don’t decide the price\, you do! Our “sweet spot” would be about $25 per person; if you are on a budget\, pay less\, and if you are able to pay more\, please do!\n\nAppropriate for ages 13+\n\nFor more information please visit our webpage at www.hubtheatreboston.org

SUMMARY:Dido of Idaho by Abby Rosebrock
DESCRIPTION:When a love affair goes brutally awry\, a hard-drinking musicologist seeks asylum with her estranged evangelical mother. Dido of Idaho is a modern\, dark comedy that loosely re-imagines the ancient myth of Dido and Aeneas. This play is a funny\, surprising\, and often unsettling exploration of love\, despair\, and the difficult path toward self-acceptance. \n  \nWinner of the 2025 LA Drama Critics Circle Awards for Best Original Writing\, Best Direction\, and Best Featured Performance. \n“Vibrant\, outré humor. Unwinds not at all as you might expect. Beth Henley infused with a few drops of Martin McDonagh’s deranged fierceness. Rosebrock has spun a comedy that freely intermingles laughter\, frustration\, tears and shock.” —Charles McNulty\, Los Angeles Times \nPerformances of Dido of Idaho are April 17 – May 10\, 2026Fri. & Sat. at 8:00\, Sun. at 3:00

SUMMARY:"My Armenia" Photography Exhibition Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:A new documentary photography exhibition by Arlington\, Mass.-based photographer Winslow Martin\, “My Armenia (1999–2008)\,” traces a deeply personal journey through post-Soviet Armenia and the historic moments he witnessed along the way. Opening April 16 through May 30\, the exhibition inaugurates Project Save Photograph Archive’s newly expanded gallery space in Watertown. \nProject Save Executive Director Arto Vaun says Martin’s exhibition\, which includes 30 photographs\, stands apart for its commitment to documentary photography rooted in lived experience\, sustained presence and trust\, rather than observation from a distance. \nThe new gallery introduces a dedicated space for contemporary photography—amplifying the timeliness and impact of Project Save—and creating an environment where an already historic archive can be experienced in dialogue with present-day work. \nOpening Reception April 16th \nWine & light refreshments will be served. \n6:30pm-9:00pm \nProject Save Photograph Archive \n600 Pleasant Street \nWatertown\, MA 02472

SUMMARY:Good Writing: An Evening with Anne Lamott & Neal Allen
DESCRIPTION:Beloved author Anne Lamott has a new book\, Good Writing\, co-written with her husband\, Neal Allen. Based on rules of writing Neal has collected over the years\, it’s a sideways glimpse into how Anne and Neal collaborate on writing\, editing\, and living together. Whether you’re just starting out or deep into a lifelong writing practice\, this conversation promises to be generous\, practical\, and delightfully human—much like Anne and Neal themselves. Come for the inspiration; stay for the stories\, the laughter\, and the reminder that anyone can learn to write better\, one sentence at a time.

SUMMARY:Revolutionary Snake Ensemble brings its annual Mardi Gras Party back to Scullers
DESCRIPTION:The Revolutionary Snake Ensemble’s annual upbeat Mardi Gras Party joined by New Orleans native Henri Smith and other special you’re-in-for-a-surprise guests. \n\nThe Revolutionary Snake Ensemble\, formed in Boston in 1990\, continues to perpetuate the New Orleans vibe throughout the New England area and beyond. A vibe that stems from a Southern city that has had more than its fair share of troubled times. With a show of resilience\, survival\, unity\, NOLA’s Mardi Gras tradition signifies their strength in spite of any adversity. And RSE has always been on a mission to respect and perpetuate that “bon temps rouler” upbeat strength.\n\nAt Scullers\, RSE will once again celebrate this time of year\, with a toast to Mardi Gras vitality soon to be followed by Spring’s renewal. They will again be joined by New Orleans icon & vocalist Henri Smith\, who always exudes that special Mardi Gras party feel! This year also promises to be an even more expansive jazz throw-down\, which\, as RSE’s leader Ken Field has described\, will include “an over-the-top slate of truly amazing special surprise guests — trust me\, you want to be there for this one!” \nRSE’s outstanding krewe members are Ken Field (RSE leader\, alto sax & flute)\, Tom Hall (tenor sax)\, Dave Harris (trombone & tuba)\, Blake Newman (bass)\, Phil Neighbors (drums)\, and Jerry Sabatini (trumpet).  RSE’s 5th album “Serpentine”\, released this past year\, focuses on Ken Field’s original compositions\, along with arrangements of diverse works from Frank Zappa to the Appalachian traditional song “The Water is Wide.”  Downbeat says it’s “such an invigorating blast\,” and United Mutations calls it “impressive…beautiful.”  According to Provincetown Magazine\, the album is “Splendid…spontaneous\, improvisational\, rigged with the band’s energy and prosody … a solid blast of brass in a mercury-wild package. This is music for listening\, moving your ass. It’s music for being alive.”\nrevolutionarysnakeensemble.org\, revolutionarysnakeensemble.org/albums/serpentine/
