Dive into the enchanting musical, “Into the Woods” at True Repertory Theatre for a fun night out this summer! “Into the Woods” features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine. This production is an audience favorite and when you attend it will be easy to see why!

In conjunction with “Into the Woods” and True Rep’s Project 719 Community Outreach Program and in partnership with ALS ONE of Massachusetts, True Rep will be hosting an ALS Awareness Event and Fundraiser dedicated in memory of David Bernardinelli. David was a company actor with True Rep and a member of TRT’s original “Into the Woods” cast. This will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM at Gray’s Beach. To help raise funds for ALS ONE, the event will feature an ice bucket challenge, raffles, food trucks, dedications/speakers and songs sung by True Rep’s Pre-Pandemic “Into the Woods” cast and current cast members. After the event, there will be a 7:00 PM production of “Into the Woods”! Please bring a beach chair for this event as well as for the 7:00 PM shows!

About the Musical

“As the result of a curse by a once-beautiful witch, a baker and his wife are childless. Three days before the rise of a blue moon, they venture into the forest to find the ingredients that will reverse the spell and restore the witch's beauty: a milk-white cow, hair as yellow as corn, a blood-red cape, and a slipper of gold. During their journey, they meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack, each one on a quest to fulfill a wish. Sondheim's lush Tony-winning score and James Lapine's Tony-winning book conjure a world where "giants can be good and witches can be right" and make "Into the Woods" a contemporary classic and an audience favorite.”
