Inaugural Wasabi Fenway Bowl December 29th at Fenway Park
Fenway Park is thrilled to be home to a new college football bowl game starting in 2021, and to bring the excitement of post-season college football to New England for the first time ever. This year’s Wasabi Fenway Bowl will feature the University of Virginia from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and Southern Methodist University from the American Athletic Conference (AAC).
Fenway Park has a storied history of hosting football games throughout its existence, dating back to 1912 when its doors were first opened. Fast forward to present day, Fenway Park will now be the third Major League Baseball stadium to currently host a bowl game, joining the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium and the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at the Arizona Diamondbacks' Chase Field.
The inaugural Wasabi Fenway Bowl, in partnership with Moderna, Amica Insurance, and CVS Health, kicks-off on Wednesday, December 29 at 11:00 am. Fenway Sports Management, ESPN Events, and the City of Boston are excited to bring this annual event, featuring teams from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), to historic Fenway Park.
