Best Brunch Spots To Try This Patriot’s Weekend

This upcoming Monday April 19th we will be celebrating Patriot’s Day. If you are looking for a nice place in the Boston area to get brunch with friends, family, or by yourself, you have come to the right place! Here is a list of the best brunch spots that are open this weekend!

Committee

This modern Greek restaurant located in the Seaport District has the best ambiance of any of the Brunch spots I have tried in Boston. Aside from delicious food, they have beautiful and very modern decorations. They also offer outdoor dining if you want to enjoy the nice weather. Try the Zucchini Crisps, Artichoke Moussaka, or the Tsoureki Toast (pictured). You won’t be disappointed if you give this place a try but I do recommend making reservations!

Cafe Landwer

Cafe Landwer has two locations across Boston. They offer Mediterranean food for all in a fast-casual dining experience. You will be in and out in no more than an hour depending on how fast you eat because their food comes out fast! So if you are looking for a quick and convenient brunch spot, this is your place! Make sure you don’t leave without trying the Hummus bowls (any of the one’s offered are great, I have tried all and my favorite is the Falafel one! - pictured), the Avocado Tartine, the Chicken Salad, the Landwer’s Famous Schnitzel (famous for a reason!), and the Vegan French Stir-Fry (my favorite! - pictured). I have also heard great reviews about the pastas so don’t hesitate to try them!

Buttermilk & Bourbon

Located right next to the famous Newbury Street, Buttermilk & Bourbon is hard to miss due to the waits outside for their brunch. Definitely make a reservation prior to going so you have no problems. The outdoor sitting is great for the spring weather in Boston. The restaurant serves southern food in a very cozy space. Give these plates a try: the 2 Prime Burger Sliders (order more than one because they are small and you will probably want more!), Cinnamon French Toast (pictured!), Warm Honey Glazed Biscuits, and a side of Black Pepper Home Fries. After hearing this spot for a while I gave it a try and it did not disappoint at all!

Sonsie

Located right in the heart of Newbury Street, Sonsie is one of the best brunch spots in this street. They have been around for over twenty-five years bringing International plates to the locals. The first time I tried Sonsie I was just passing by and saw it had a few empty tables which were filled within minutes of me going in. They open for lunch and dinner as well but their brunch is delicious. Their Tuna Tartare, Kale Caesar Salad, Margarita Pizza (simple but very tasty, they use a brick-oven), Avocado Toast, and Eggs Benedict are my personal favorites! Great place to sit outside to enjoy the weather and music!

Citrus & Salt

The last spot in this list is a delicious and modern Mexican restaurant. They offer brunch both Saturdays and Sundays so you can go whichever day works best for you! Their plates and drinks are definitely Instagram worthy! Some suggestions to try are the Chorizo & Corn Empanadas, Grilled Street Corn (AMAZING), Pink Cornmeal Pancakes, and the Soft Serve as dessert. Add some sides to your meal such as Tortilla Chips and Guacamole. Their most known plate is the Friend Chicken and Waffle Tacos which I haven’t tried but the reviews online are great! Be ready to be transported to Mexico because this restaurant gives you the full experience.
