COVID-19 has been been tough on communities. Shut downs, scarcity, and isolation. The good news is, it’s also brought out an amazing abundance of kindness and empathy.

Revere has a long history of aiding its citizens whether they face historic blizzards, flooding or tornadoes – and most recently answering the call for help during this pandemic. Community leaders and businesses are forging strong bonds to help each survive – both physically and financially, one of these being the Dryft restaurant.

I connected with Dryft owner Nicole Aldi to learn how the venue looks to give back during these stressful times, as well as some of the some of the notable people that have dined at this restaurant.

How does Dryft benefit the community?

We cater to many nursing homes and social centers throughout the area. We also donate to charitable organizations and host fundraisers —including coats for kids — which is happening right now until Christmas.

How has the city of Revere supported your restaurant?

The city of Revere has supported us every step of the way and have been wonderful. They’ve helped with permitting for additional outdoor seating during the pandemic, provide us with the amount of people should be in our restaurant and host many of their fundraisers at our establishment.

Who are some prominent figures that have dined in your restaurant?

We’ve seen some of the Boston city council members of Revere dine here frequently, as well as Mayor Marty Walsh, Senator Ed Markey and actress Jaimie Alexander.
